Sport has an eminent place in Australia’s official and popular national culture, and its status as a ‘paradise of sport’ has become a large feature of Australian identity. Since 1810 when sport came to Australia and the first athletics tournament was conducted, sports has been a very important part of the society as well as the Australian Culture.
Sports including; cricket, Australian Rules football, Rugby union and horse racing are celebrated nationally as well as internationally. Australian national identity has been designed by these games in the form events such as the Ashes, the Melbourne Cup and the America’s Cup.
Many networks, associations and sports clubs are operating and numerous developmental programs have been developed to provide the best opportunities to the sports enthusiasts.
